About

The Traveler’s Handbook is a compilation of comprehensive guides designed to provide information on various travel destinations, and inspire you to make your next trip!

Travel related sites are not on shortage over the internet, so I thought it could be helpful to state what the Handbook is - and what it isn’t.

What’s the difference with a Travel Blog?

By definition, a blog is a collection of articles. In the case of travel blogs, it usually centers on the author’s experiences and recommendations when visiting a country. This is a great way to read about first hand experiences and get a more personal opinion on the place. Also, many travel blogs have a huge focus on photography, which is a very welcome addition.

As a Blog keeps growing, organizing the info can be a challenge. Many popular blogs organize the articles in Guides by country or city. But the focus remains on reaching the articles, to leverage the huge amount of info that’s already in them.

The Traveler’s Handbook focuses on consolidating info about travel destinations in different guides, so that you can have a quick overview and get travel inspiration.

But blogs are great, you may say. Well, yes they are. The Traveler’s Handbook will also have a Blog section for more in depth experiences around the world. But the main focus will focus in the curated information on the guides.

So, it’s a travel guide right? Kind of.

What’s the difference with a traditional Travel Guide?

A travel guide is a comprehensive resource is designed to assist travelers in planning their trips and making informed decisions during their journeys. So, the Handbook is a travel guide right?

In order to cover every topic a traveler may need to plan the trip, travel guides are usually extensive (and sometimes exhausting). This is absolutely what you’re looking for when you are actually planning a trip - if you’re the type of person that’s a heavy planner. But what about when you’re “just looking” and want to be inspired?

This is where the Handbook comes in. The guides cover the inspirational part of travel destinations: why it is great, how does it feel like, what activities you might enjoy. And it presents it in a way that is easy to navigate. Does it cover everything? No. Do you want to know what currency is in use and if there are ATMs? Then you might have to go to a Travel Guide.

But if you want to discover more about some new destination and not be overwhelmed, then this is the place just for you.

So, what is the Handbook?

Ok ok, I’ll give you a concise - and comprehensive answer.

  • The Handbook provides curated and explorable guides. From countries to regions and cities - back and forth - and makes it easy to navigate between them.
  • The guides let you explore activities in each destination by topic - so as to not overload with information. You decide what you want to read.
  • This is a work in progress! So some sections will be arriving later:

  • It will have a Blog section - with articles linked to the related guide - to dive deeper into certain topics.
  • Help on finding Hotels
  • Itinieraries: Suggested itineraries to combine different destinations - included and not included in the guides.
